New Queen Exhibition to Recreate the Band's Famed Studio in Montreux, Switzerland
 PRNewsFoto/Hollywood RecordsA new exhibition celebrating Queen's years recording in Montreux, Switzerland, is scheduled to open in the city on December 2, coinciding with World AIDS Day. "Queen: The Studio Experience Montreux" will be hosted by the Casino Barrière de Montreux, the original site of Mountain Studios, where the legendary U.K. rock group recorded from 1978 until 1995.
The exhibit will feature a recreated version of the facility, as well as a wide variety of memorabilia from Queen's archives, including instruments, audio equipment, costumes, handwritten lyrics and much more. The display also will offer interactive presentations and areas that will allow fans to hear and even remix tracks Queen laid down on the studio. Among the historic items that will be featured is the microphone late frontman Freddie Mercury used to record his final vocals.
The exhibition is dedicated to Mercury and is being presented by the Mercury Phoenix Trust, the HIV/AIDS-awareness charity founded by Queen's surviving members in honor of the singer. "Queen: The Studio Experience Montreux" is being curated by the band's official archivist, Greg Brooks, and designed by Marmalade London, the U.K. agency that created the 2011 Queen-themed "Stormtroopers in Stilettos" attraction.
Guitarist Brian May says of the exhibit, "So much of our later development is tied into Mountain Studios, so it will be nice for Queen followers to be able to experience the studio first hand, and connect to possibly the most fertile period of all in the Queen story."
May and Queen drummer Roger Taylor will be on hand for the opening festivities. The exhibition will be open daily from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m. local time. Admission is free, but a donation to the Mercury Phoenix Trust is encouraged.
